The original "Jurassic Park" films created by Steven Spielberg were huge successes, and this is why everybody hoped that Colin Trevorrow's "Jurassic World" would be of the same caliber.
Despite high hopes attached to it, the movie still managed to surprise everybody involved by its level of success, and this is why a sequel is definitely in the works.
Nick Robinson, the actor who plays Claire Dearing's nephew Zach really hopes to be a part of the sequel, but as of now, he does not know what the sequel will be about and who will be included.
"It is all very top secret, hush hush kind of stuff, but they are definitely cooking up something good," he told Screen Rant. "I am sure there is going to be a bunch of new dinosaurs, new characters and I know that Chris (Pratt) and Bryce (Dallas Howard) are coming back, but it is all kind of up in the air right now."
Robinson added that he has no idea what will happen to the franchise, and he thinks it will be a good couple of years before any news materializes. However, no matter how far into the future that might be, Robinson said he's game to be a part of "Jurassic World" again.
"Yeah I would be very down to kick some (expletive). That would be fun!" he enthusiastically said
For the next film, he hopes that Zach and his younger brother Gray develop a closer relationship, since in the first film, Zach looked pretty exasperated being with Gray.
"I would like to see that brother relationship grow a little bit more so that they get along a little bit better. Maybe then Zach and Gray (could) go into a secret navy seals program and become like raptor fighters or trainers," he said.
The Indominus Rex might have been the film's biggest star (not to mention villain), but for Robinson, he has a soft spot for the dinosaurs trained by Owen Grady (Pratt).
"I got to say the raptor (is my favorite), honestly. They are just kind of classic. (There was) that scene where they are tapping on the kitchen floor (and) it had me at that," he shared.
And between the T-Rex and the Indominus Rex, Robinson would have to go for the classic dinosaur as well.
The actor also thinks that people respond so well to dinosaur movies because they like to play with the idea that animals from the past can still exist.
"It is that fear, that prehistoric, that primal sense that we are not [at] the top of the food chain anymore," he said. "I think that it is part of the appeal having a part of history that comes to life."
