Kanye West is once again making headlines as the rapper reportedly threw a tantrum onstage when technical issues continued to disrupt his performance during the Pan Am Games Closing Ceremony in Toronto, Canada on Sunday. While Kim Kardashian's husband has always been known to storm off in the middle of his songs when something is not right, this incident takes the cake as the soon to be father of two simply dropped his mic and walked off without any explanation, according to Huffington Post Canada.
While even the most staunch supporters of the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star hubby would be unable to refute reports claiming that the rapper tends to be a bit of demanding and a perfectionist when it comes to his instructions during his performances, not many could argue that he never scrimps on the energy he brings onstage. Opting to perform in the simplest way possible during the Pan Am Games - with only a spotlight on him, wearing jeans and a loose blue hoodie, Kanye West gave quite a performance as he delivered spectacular numbers featuring his hit singles, which indubitably multiplied his net worth since their release, such as "Power," "All of the Lights" and "Gold Digger."
The audience had been wowed and were completely engaged in Kardashian's husband's numbers, so they were completely caught off guard when the rapper simply walked out of the stage without an ending or an explanation for his exit. According to the Huffington post, the technical issues came about while Kanye West was performing his final song, "Good Life." Upon asking that the lights in the stadium be turned on so he can be face to face with the 40,000 people in attendance, the rapper began to sing his last number. Midway, however, the microphone appeared to have stopped working. Members of the audience said that they could see Kanye West mouthing words but could not hear a thing. Minutes following the malfunction of the devices, Kim Kardashian's husband simply dropped the mic and walked off the stage.
"You cannot see this on the video, but when Kanye threw the mic into the crowd it was not part of his routine," revealed an insider who is part of the production staff of the event, according to Radar Online. The source added, "During his set, the audio went out, which is actually not that uncommon for a production such as this." The insider went on to say, "But instead of acting like a professional, he threw the mic and walked off stage. When he got backstage he threw a huge hissy fit tantrum and was cursing up a storm. It was ridiculous."
