Clayton Kershaw has recently signed a 200 million dollar contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. There have been many positive reactions to Kershaw's decision to stay in LA particularly from many recent Korean Americans that joined the Dodgers band wagon. Despite being one of the greatest MLB pitchers in history, many fans of the faith were astounded when they learned about his Christian identity and his life of volunteering in Africa.

Though he has reached a point in life where many would call "successful", Kershaw talked about his own spiritual struggles in his book Arise. Just like any young American trying to make it in society, the pitcher shared how as his fans can get disappointed at his performance, the same might apply for God as He views our lives. He shared how helping children in Africa helped him overcome such a worldview and learned that no matter his performance in life, God will still love him.

Kershaw and the Dodgers are looking forward to another 2014 season, and many American Christian youths are expected to be encouraged by both his performance on the mound and his acts of faith.
