The South Korean soccer legend, Ji-Sung Park got married this afternoon (Korea time) with the former announcer Minji Kim on the 30th of July. The wedding ceremony was brought to the public through the popular show "Han Bam TV" (SBS), a celebrities' news program.
This episode of "Han Bam TV" was hosted by Sooyoung, a member of the Korean female pop group Girls' Generation and the popular rock star Do-Hyun Yoon (YB). The show released the first photos taken at the former EPL (English Premier League) star's wedding with his fiancé.
What attracted even more attention were the guests that were invited to the wedding. One very special guest was the legendary Korean swimmer Tae-hwan Park who won the gold medal for the 2008 Beijing Olympics for men's freestyle 400 meters. In an interview he commented that he brought so much cash for the newlyweds' monetary gift (a Korean marriage tradition) that he could not close his wallet.
Other well-known faces that showed up at the wedding included soccer player Patrica Evra (Juventus F.C.), soccer coach Guus Hiddink, Korean actor Byung-hyun Lee, Haha, comedian Gwangsu Lee and global pop star PSY.
Park welcomed all his guests with words of greeting; "Greetings, I am Ji-sung Park. I'm no longer a soccer player and I am about to start a brand new life. All of your support and love will forever have a special place in my heart and I will do my best to pay you all back. Hope you will all continue to support us."
Ji-sung Park became a legend after the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup, where the Korean national team entered the semi-finals for the first time, and the rookie Ji-sung Park became the first Korean to play for an English Premier League soccer club in history. He played for Manchester United for most of his career with other EPL star players like Wade Roonie and Christiano Ronaldo. He ended his soccer career after a short period with the Queens Park Rangers.
