With the Mobile World Congress just around the corner, more rumors are coming out about smartphones that will allegedly be unveiled in the upcoming event.
According to a report by GSM Arena, the upcoming flagship of LG Electronics -- the LG G4 -- is expected to make an appearance during the yearly event in Barcelona in March.
In the report, an alleged User Agent Profile (UAP) of the LG G4 has appeared online and is now making the rounds on several tech websites. The UAP allegedly reveals a rather unusual resolution unlike anything seen in the mobile market today.
In the leaked image, the resolution is 2880 x 1620, which is slighly better than the 2440 x 1440 some Android flagships currently have. Because the number is already nearing the 3K mark, the report dubbed it 3K resolution. However, it contracted earlier reports suggesting that the new LG flagship phone will feature just 2K or QHD display, based on a UAP allegedly for AT&T.
The latest UAP file is reportedly for Verizon Wireless, which means that the network carrier may be getting a much better version of LG's upcoming flagship. Other devices which will allegedly make its way to the network carrier include the Sony Xperia Z3v, as well as the Motorola Droid Turbo which is among the favorites today in the Android market in the United States.
After more than seven months since announcing the current LG G3, the LG G4 allegedly boasts a similar frame but with much improved specs. Some rumored features include a 5.5-inch display, 4GB of RAM for superior multi-tasking capabilities, a Snapdragon 810 chipset from Qualcomm, and 32GB of internal battery.
Other specs include a 16MP primary shooter, a 2MP front camera and Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. LG will complete with other manufacturers like Sony, Samsung and HTC, who are also gearing up for the release of their new flagship devices.
Last year, LG made headlines as it became the first smartphone manufacturer of the three to launch a phone with a QHD or 2560 x 1440 resolution display. Unfortunately, the LG G3 failed to meet expectations as it was soon overshadowed by the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
