For the past few months, there were speculations claiming that the new LG G4 would not be unveiled next month at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. However, recent leaks have been pouring in, which points to an MWC launch on March 1.
The latest leak about the handset claimed that the LG G4 will boast a QHD or 2K display (2560 x 1440 resolution), just like its predecessor, the LG G3.
According to a report by GSM Arena, a leaked User Agent Profile (UAP) points to a QHD screen resolution for the upcoming Android flagship. This comes in despite previous rumors that the smartphone would boast a 3K (2880 x 1620) resolution.
Unfortunately, it appears that the 3K version of the LG G3 would only be available exclusively via Verizon Wireless, as mentioned in another GSM Arena report.
Verizon is known for releasing handsets that have slightly better specs than the originals. With the latest UAP file leak, it can almost be confirmed that the new LG G4 would come with a 2K display, and that goes for the AT&T and international versions as well.
The leaked UAP document also showed other upcoming LG smartphones that are due to come out in the next couple of months. The LG G Flex 2 (dubbed model F510) is confirmed to get Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and a slightly smaller 5.5-inch display compared to the previous generation.
Interestingly, another device came up the UAP file, listing an HD (1280 x 720) resolution and a 5-inch screen, which will reportedly be the rumored LG Aka, but such reports are still unconfirmed at this point.
Other rumored specs of LG's upcoming G4 flagship include a Snapdragon 810 chipset from Qualcomm, octa-core CPU, 4GB of RAM and a 32GB internal memory. Other alleged specs of the Android smartphone include a 16MP primary camera with OIS, and a better front shooter than the 2MP front cam found in the LG G3.
LG is certainly making sure it catches up with other Android flagships currently available in the market, although it would need to take on another rumored monster phone, Samsung's Galaxy S6. To make things worse, the Korean company also has a Galaxy S Edge, which would quickly become the main threat to LG's G Flex 2.
