In Microsoft's event the company announced its plans about Windows 10 and other device release dates, the Redmond giant also gave the audience a glimpse of its brand new internet browser.
After sticking with Internet Explorer for almost 20 years, Microsoft has finally moved on and unveiled the official web browser for its Windows 10 version.
Dubbed as Project Spartan, there are not many clues whether this will be its official name or not. However, its features are already being talked about throughout the Web.
According to a report by Phone Arena, the program supports three distinct and unique features which would surely make the transfer from IE easy. In fact, even users of other internet browsers such as Firefox, Chrome and Safari may find these features amusing.
First up is the voice assistant Cortana. In Windows 10, Cortana wil not just be in smartphones, but also in tablets, laptops and desktop. When using Project Spartan in Windows 10, the virtual voice assistant not only predicts keystrokes, but also shows common search items. The integration of different devices and their compatibility with Windows 10 also allows Cortana to work and function across platforms.
The note-taking feaure is also a unique concept for Project Spartan. It allows the user to write notes on any page of a website, without the need of a stylus. Users can simply use their fingers in writing down whatever there is they want to write about that particular web page.
Lastly, there is a new reader feature which was non-existent in Internet Explorer. The feature allows consumers to keep a neat list of everything they want to read, minus all the clutter found in the websites where the resources are available.
Indeed, Project Spartan is a step in the right direction for Microsoft. In the report, the company's brand new browser may be unveiled in the latter part of the year.
