Sony announced that those who pre-order the upcoming game "MLB 15: The Show" will get the chance to dress up their PlayStation 4 controllers in their favorite professional baseball team colors.
The announcement was made by game producer Chris Cutliff through the PlayStation blog.
According to Cutliff, pre-ordering the game at selected retail and online stores will entitle gamers to a special code. This code can then be used to order customized DualShock 4 controller skins.
The designs, which features the logos and colors of various MLB teams such as the San Diego Padres, New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs and the San Francisco Giants, are made by SkinIt, a company known for delivering customized cases and stickers for various mobile and gaming devices.
To get the code, gamers can pre-order "MLB 15: The Show" through Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, Amazon and GameStop. After receiving the code, they can visit the game's SkinIt website and choose which design based on their chosen MLB team they would like to see on their PS4 controllers.
Once they have chosen a design, they will be required to enter the code at checkout, Game Spot reported.
SkinIt noted that the skins are made out of durable vinyl which is easy to apply and remove from the controllers. Aside from their aesthetic appeal, the skins also protect the DualShock 4 from scratches.
"MLB 15: The Show," which supports both single-player and online multiplayer modes, is scheduled to debut on March 31 for the PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. For those who pre-order the game through the PlayStation Store, they'll be able to pre-load it into their consoles starting on March 29.
"Don't forget that pre-ordering on PS Store means you'll be able to pre-load the game onto your PS4 system two days before it launches so you're ready to play just after midnight," Cutliff wrote.
In addition, the producer mentioned that aside from the skin code, those who pre-order through GameStop will receive six other bonus items for the game.
