"Make no mistake, the game is coming to its end," President Snow menacingly tells Katniss Everdeen in the first official 'Mockingjay - Part 2' trailer. The footage was released on Thursday, when Jennifer Lawrence led "The Hunger Games' cast as they graced the San Diego Comic Con with their presence for one last time.
Making its way to cinemas on Nov. 20, "Mockingjay - Part 2' is the final installment of the highly popular young adult film franchise based on "The Hunger Games' dystopian book trilogy. It follows the story of Katniss (Lawrence) as she becomes the leader of a major uprising against repressive leader President Snow (Donald Sutherland).
The film's first official trailer shows scenes of the Capitol of Panem burning as Katniss wages war within the city. It also provides a look into all of her relationships, including her sister Prim, for whom Katniss volunteered as tribute and started her on the journey, as well as rebel forces commander Plutarch, played by the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.
"What I like about these movies is that they take the entire world, and they condense it into this one continent, and they take all of these issues and one girl, who took it in her hands," Lawrence shared.
Movie studio Lionsgate has greatly presented "The Hunger Games' franchise at San Diego's Comic-Con over the past four years, generating buzz among the tens of thousands of film, TV and pop culture fans who attend the convention.
Last Thursday, drummers all decked out in white costumes walked in tune through a crowd of over 6,000 individuals to introduce the official "Hunger Games' panel.
Aside from Lawrence, co-stars Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and Willow Shields were also present along with director Francis Lawrence and producer Nina Jacobson. They mentioned how filming the final installment of the franchise had been highly emotional.
"The changes that happened in my life from doing these movies are so permanent that I don't think I'll ever really say goodbye, it'll always be a part of me," Lawrence said.
'The Hunger Games' franchise, which has already raked in $2.2 billion at the global box office since its debut in 2012, paved the way for the Oscar-winning actress to become one of Hollywood's most singled out actresses of her generation.
Aside from "The Hunger Games' movies, the 24-year-old star already won multiple awards for her performances in 2012's romantic comedy-drama film "Silver Linings Playbook' and the crime drama movie "American Hustle.'
