The Motorola Moto G 2015 edition might hit the market earlier than expected as reports revealed the 3rd-generation smartphone could be unveiled and released later this month.
According to Brazilian website Tecmundo, the Moto G (2015) will be announced on July 28 in Brazil and will immediately be available for retail after the announcement. Following the release in Brazil, the Moto G 3rd Gen will arrive in Chile in August as reported by GSM Arena.
Aside from the leaked information about the July 28 release date, the Brazilian website also released specifications of the Moto G (2015) smartphone, which is part of Motorola's line of budget smartphone and alternative to their popular Moto X smartphones.
The Moto G (2015) will reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset with 1.4 GHz quad core Cortex-A53 CPU and Adreno 306 GPU along with 1GB of RAM. There will be 8GB and 16GB variants, but the storage space is still expandable via the available microSD slots.
As for its features, the Moto G (2015) boasts a five-inch 720p display. It also has a 13 megapixels rear camera and five megapixel front snapper along with a 2,470 mAh battery. Recent reports also revealed renders of this smartphone were leaked online.
The leaked specification also revealed that the smartphone has IPx7 certification, which could indicate the Moto G (2015) is water resistant with certain limit -- 1 meter for up to 30 minutes as reported by GSM Arena. As for the price, it will be available for BRL 899, which is roughly $287.
In a separate report from GSM Arena, alleged leaked information indicated that there could also be a 2GB RAM variant aside from the traditional 1GB RAM edition. It remains to be seen whether or not the 2GB RAM will be paired with 16GB storage and the 1GB RAM with the 8GB storage.
Aside from the 2GB RAM variant, consumers could also get a personalized edition of the Moto G (2015) as reports revealed the smartphone will be eligible for MotoMaker customization. If the recent report is to be believed, there will be different options for back plate colors and different accents.
MotoMaker customization also allows button modifications, but the features will reportedly be unavailable for the upcoming Moto G (2015) smartphone. It should also be noted that the MotoMaker will not be available on all markets. More information about the Motorola G 3rd Gen and MotoMaker eligibility are expected to come out soon.
