Over a hundred events are set to take place throughout the week as Christians come together for the inaugural "National Week of Prayer" for the U.K. and beyond.

This initiative has been organized in just a few months with support from various global organizations, including the Evangelical Alliance, Open Doors, 24-7 Prayer, and London City Mission.

From October 12 to 20, more than a thousand Christians, networks, and groups have signed up to pray for the U.K., the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man.

The events will be held in a variety of locations, such as churches, community centers, beaches, castle grounds, parks, and more. Additionally, there will be online prayer watches, live-streamed midday prayers, and night vigils to enable virtual participation.

The flagship event for the week will be an in-person prayer gathering at the Emmanuel Centre in Westminster on October 16. Throughout the week, the focus of the prayers will center around spheres of influence, including government, healthcare, education, and business.

Organizers commented, “This coordination and firepower has been a miraculous movement led by the Holy Spirit. We continue to receive multiple testimonies of others who have been called to pray at the same time, even receiving inspired worship songs from around the nation, all with similar themes.”

They further expressed the significance of unity among believers, emphasizing, “The oneness and unity of the Body has been inspiring as all have been willing to lay down brands, logos, and agenda and join hands under the banner of the National Week of Prayer humbling ourselves to corporately pray and ask the Lord to heal our land.”
