The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Chicago Bulls might collide in the second round of the 2015 NBA Playoffs and most analysts believe that it will be the best playoff matchup in the Eastern Conference.
The Cavaliers are currently in second place in the Eastern Conference with their 50-27 record, while the Bulls are in third place with their 46-31 record.
Should they collide in the second round of the 2015 NBA Playoffs, the Cavaliers will have homecourt advantage, but Bulls superstar Joakim Noah said that they are not afraid of facing Cleveland in their home turf in the playoffs.
"I think we're a confident group," Noah told reporters. "And it would be great to play them in the playoffs. It would be very, very exciting, something that I really hope happens."
The Bulls, who were tagged as one of the title favorites heading into the season, are 1-3 against the Cavaliers this season. The Cavaliers scored a 99-94 win on Sunday in Cleveland to take the season series.
The Bulls are not in their best form at this point, but Noah said that their remaining regular-season games will be big for them if they want to hit peak form in time for the playoffs and their possible matchup with the Cavaliers.
"We just have to get better as a team," Noah said. "But if the opportunity presents itself and we can play Cleveland, I would be very happy. We would be very happy as a team to be able to do that."
Jimmy Butler, who emerged as one of the best players of the Bulls this season, is also looking forward to facing the Cavaliers in the playoffs. He pointed out that they need to go through Cleveland if they want to win the title.
"I think you got to go through them anyways," Butler said of the Bulls. "I think they're probably the favorite to come out of here anyway, so if we want to change that, then I think we're going to have to be the ones that beat them."
The Bulls are expected to welcome superstar point guard Derrick Rose back in time for the playoffs. The former Most Valuable Player, who is averaging 18.0 points and 5.0 assists this season, has not played since February after suffering a torn meniscus in his right knee for the second time in his career.
