Phoenix Suns forward Markieff Morris returned from suspension on Wednesday but Marcus Morris revealed that his twin brother is still unsettled in Phoenix.
Markieff demanded for a trade last summer after the Suns traded Marcus to the Detroit Pistons without informing them beforehand. The Suns remained firm and opted to keep Markieff, but Marcus insisted that nothing has change -- his brother wants to move another team soon.
"One thing about Keef is he's always positive," Marcus told Detroit Free Press. "Some stuff might happen a little, but he's always positive. He's still looking to get out of there, still looking to go somewhere else. Right now he has to be a pro and continue to take care of his business on and off the court."
Marcus also blasted the Suns organization, saying that the franchise is obviously in a disarray. The Suns are currently the third-worst team in the Western Conference with their 12-22 record. Marcus added that he is aware of what his brother is going through because they are talking to each other a lot about the situation.
"We talk every day," Marcus said. "He knows what's best for him. We all know what's best for him, and what's best for him is to continue to be professional and continue to work hard on his game."
Markieff is averaging 10.8 points on 37.9 percent shooting from the field on top of 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists this season. His current numbers are from his last season's averages of 15.3 points on 46.5 percent shooting to go along with 6.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
Is Markieff struggling because of his desire to move out? Marcus insisted that his brother is doing his best for his current team and he expects him to the same even if he gets traded soon.
"He's a hard worker, and so he will continue to be ready when his number is called," Marcus said of his brother. "If he gets traded, he'll be able to contribute to any team in the league."
It remains to be seen, though, whether or not the Suns will eventually pull the trigger and move Markieff before the trade deadline in February. Recent reports indicated that the market for Morris is shallow at this point and that teams are asking for more assets in a deal involving Markieff.
