The Houston Texans will likely part ways with quarterback Brian Hoyer and the Denver Broncos were mentioned as one of the possible landing spots.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport revealed that the Texans and Hoyer are likely "headed for a divorce" due to the quarterback's uncertain future in Houston. Hoyer is also open to having a fresh start with a new team.

Hoyer signed a two-year deal worth $10.5 million with the Texans last year after ending his two-season stint with the Cleveland Browns. The 30-year-old appeared in 11 games, including nine starts, completing 60.7 percent of his passes for 2,606 yards and 10 touchdowns against just seven interceptions.
Hoyer suddenly became a dispensable asset after the Texans signed former Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler to a four-year, $72 million deal. Osweiler, who had an impressive year for the Broncos last season, is expected to start for the Texans, demoting Hoyer to second-string position.
Meanwhile, Chris Wesseling of NFL.com reported that Denver could consider trading for Hoyer. The Broncos are currently in an unfamiliar territory after being left without an established starting quarterback, following Osweiler's decision to sign with the Texans and Peyton Manning's retirement.
However, the Broncos appear unready to make a move to acquire another quarterback after trading for Mark Sanchez. According to the report, the Broncos are still waiting if they can acquire San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who was also mentioned in numerous NFL trade rumors over the past several weeks.
If they fail to convince the 49ers to a deal for Kaepernick, the Broncos will also consider Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown, who was also a subject of NFL trade rumors this month. The Browns are expected to part ways with McCown after acquiring former Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III.
McCown completed 63.7 percent of his passes last season for 2,109 yards with 12 touchdowns against just four interceptions. According to Wesseling, McCown will be an upgrade over Sanchez if the Broncos eventually acquire the former Browns starter.
"Even with a fearless playing style bordering on recklessness, McCown's recent game film suggests he would be an upgrade on the mistake-prone Sanchez," Wesseling noted.
