Nike will release two highly anticipated signature shoes this weekend that are both expected to be among the hottest items on the sneaker market.
The Kobe 9 Elite, the latest signature shoe of Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant, will be released in Multi-Color/Chlorine Blue/Black colorway, which is named as the "What The" edition of the high-top shoe.
The Kobe 9 Elite "What The" sports a multicolor Flyknit upper part combined with tonal graphics along with a grey Nike Swoosh logo with neon green lining. It is finished off with a speckled midsole and outsole.
Bryant's signature shoe has been one of the best-selling sneakers on the market since it was released. According to Nike, this edition was made to commemorate the success of the Kobe 9 Elite.
"The Kobe 9 Elite's provocative design immediately shook up the sneaker world and to commemorate this game-changing shoe," Nike said in a statement. "Nike Basketball's design team has created the Kobe 9 Elite 'What The' featuring a mash up of color and graphic elements from a variety of past Kobe 9 Elites."
The Kobe 9 Elite "What The" will arrive at retailers on Sunday at 10:00 AM EST on Nike.com and select Nike retailers worldwide for $275 per pair. Official photos of this new signature sneaker are available on this link.
But before the new Kobe 9 Elite hits the market, sneakers fans could also get their hands on the new colorway of the Kyrie 1 - the first signature shoe of Cleveland Cavaliers superstar point guard Kyrie Irving.
The Kyrie 1 will be released in Bright Crimson/Black-University Red-Blue Lagoon, named as the "Deceptive Red" edition of the low-top sneaker.
The Kyrie 1 "Deceptive Red" features a bright crimson-based upper part combined with black Nike Swoosh logo and lining along with blue lagoon Kyrie logo on the tongue. Nike said that the design was inspired by Irving's unique skill set on the playing court.
"When designer Leo Chang and team began the design process of the KYRIE 1, the goal was to build a shoe to match Irving's tremendous speed and quickness," Nike said in a statement. "The Kyrie 1 needed to be light, bold and responsive with the best traction Nike Basketball could develop for Irving's prolific first step."
The Kyrie 1 "Deceptive Red" will be released on Saturday at 10:00 AM EST on Nike.com and Nike stores worldwide. It will be available for $110 for men's sizes, $100 for gradeschool sizes, $75 for preschool sizes and $52 for toddler sizes. Official photos of this shoe are available on this link.
