Ruby Rose, the breakout star of the widely popular Netflix series, "Orange is the New Black," has been praised for a number of reasons which include her acting prowess, fashion sense and charitable causes. However, one of the most prevalent descriptions of the Australian actress links her to yet another controversial star of this generation: Justin Bieber.
Ever since Ruby Rose stepped into the Hollywood spotlight, fans and followers of "Orange is the New Black" have been very vocal about their support of the star. While Ruby Rose has yet to show a very controversial side of her, the comments comparing her physical appearance to one of the "bad boys" of the music industry have never ceased. Although some artists would want to veer away from such comparison, the "Orange is the New Black" star embraces the description and even manages to make light of the situation.
In an interview with Conan O'Brien, Ruby Rose exhibited her ease and confidence on the Justin Bieber comparison and shared her thoughts on the matter. As the actress who plays Stella Marin in "Orange is the New Black" took her seat across the TV host, O'Brien wasted no time praising Ruby Rose for her beauty and charm. He said, "You're obviously very striking, very beautiful." As the "Orange is the New Black" star appreciated the compliment, the TV show host went on to drop the "Justin Bieber bomb."
"People say you look exactly like Justin Bieber," O'Brien continued to say, referring to the constant comparison the "Orange is the New Black" star receives from the tabloids and other media outlets. The TV show host then asked, "How you do feel about that?"
Gamely responding to the question, Ruby Rose gave O'Brien a cheeky answer. The "Orange is the New Black" star replied, "You know, I heard he (Justin Bieber) gets asked if he's Ruby Rose, and that must be really frustrating for him." This witty response elicited laughs from the members of the audience. However, the "Orange is the New Black" actress was not done with her humorous comeback. She then went on to turn the tables on O'Brien who unwittingly became the butt of jokes in the hands of Ruby Rose.
"I feel like you can relate," said the "Orange is the New Black" actress to O'Brien. She went on to say, "You look like a mixture of Tilda Swinton, Meryl Streep and Joel Edgerton." Ruby Rose then added that the TV show host could be passed off as the child of the three stars. She said, "You would be like their love child if three people could have one child."
