Plain White T's, the American punk band announced the arrival of their latest music album, "American Nights.' The album was released on Tuesday, March 31, 2015.
"American Nights' is the band's seventh studio album. This is their first album release in half a decade. Their last album, "Wonders of the Younger' was released in 2010. They swapped labels to Megaforce Records for this project.
Plain White T's band members include lead vocalist and keyboardist Tom Higgenson, lead guitarist Dave Tirio, rhythm guitarist Tim Lopez, bass guitarist Mike Retondo, and drummer De'Mar Hamilton. The band traces their roots back to Lombard, Illinois and Chicago. They signed with Hollywood Records in 2006 and left the label in 2014 to create 'American Nights.'
"We can write a song we like that we think the fans are going to connect with. That's what kind of the goal is for art in general, making that connection, said Higgenson in an interview with Yahoo! Music. The whole point of putting of yourself out there is hoping to make that connection, hoping to change somebody's life and make somebody's day a little bit better. To have a song a song that does that. That's the goal. That's what we want."
One of the band's hit singles "Hey There Delilah' is the 18th single most downloaded song in history. The single became certified platinum in 2007. It was nominated for two Grammy Awards and won the 2007 Teen Choice Award for Choice Summer Song.
Plain White T's made cameo appearances on hit television shows such as 'Greek,' 'iCarly,' and 'Ready for Love.' Their songs were featured on multiple tv shows like '90210,' 'Beavis and Butthead,' 'Hollyoaks,' 'Secrets of New York,' 'Parenthood,' 'One Tree Hill,' 'Secret Life of the American Teenager,' and 'Switched at Birth.' The band won the 2006 MTV Woodie Award for Best Emerging Artist. Plain White T's first formed in 1997.
