"Fast and Furious' franchise star Paul Walker would have celebrated his 42nd birthday but, instead, the late actor's family and friends honored his memory this weekend by raising funds for Reach Out Worldwide, Walker's disaster relief organization.
"I don't know anyone that loves the ocean as much as Paul did. It will always remind me of him. So, on his birthday, that's where I'll be," Walker's brother Cody said in an interview with People. "We will have a small celebration for Paul with close friends and family - nothing big. Paul was a low-key guy."
Cody, who took part in "Furious 7' as body double for his brother, will also be involved in the International Sunrise and Sunset Around the World Day, a special event celebrated annually and founded by Paul's close friend Jesse Brisendine that raises awareness as well as collects funds for ROWW.
The non-profit organization is even selling limited-edition "For Paul" shirts in honor of the late actor's birthday.
According to Cody, Paul's photo on the shirt was taken from ROWW's founding trip to Haiti.
"The shirt is a way for all of us to remember Paul for something he was very proud of," the 28-year-old rising actor said. "Almost six years later, ROWW still exists and thousands of people around the world have been helped because of him. It's an amazing legacy and one I know he'd be proud of."
Earlier this year, he spoke during a press conference to promote ROWW in Sydney, Australia after making negotiations with a talent agent to pursue acting.
"I wasn't nervous to see it. I was more anxious to see how it turned out," Cody told Time when asked about his performance in "Furious 7.' "It's bittersweet, but I think Paul would be proud."
The licensed paramedic bagged his first feature film role in "USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage,' alongside Nicolas Cage, Tom Sizemore, Thomas Jane, and Weronika Rosati.
Scheduled for a release in May 2016, the film follows events relating to the sinking of the United States Navy ship USS Indianapolis during World War II caused by enemy torpedoes in 1945. Walker's younger brother is set to play one of the ship's 1,196 crewmen.
Cody also exchanged wedding vows with his longtime partner Felicia Knox last month after spending seven years together.
"Today is the day," Cody tweeted. " I'm getting married people! #walkerdowntheaisle #luckyman"
Felicia also celebrated her transition to becoming Mrs. Walker and shared an Instagram pre-wedding photo of herself with a white robe, the word "Bride" written on the back as she looked out on a stunning landscape.
"Today is the day!" she shared. "#letsdothis #walkerdowntheaisle"
