Game development studio Harmonix is targeting October of this year to launch the next installment of its "Rock Band" series.
Eric Pope, the product manager for the studio, noted that "Rock Band 4" will run with a frame rate of 60fps with a 1080p resolution for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Game Spot has learned.
In addition, by utilizing a new game engine for the latest "Rock Band" title, Harmonix was able to take advantage of the technical features of the next-gen consoles.
"It'll be 1080p and will run at 60fps," Pope told the magazine MCV according to Videogamer. "I know there's a vocal group of players that want to hear that. But what to me is more exciting is the online infrastructure of the consoles."
"It will open a lot of opportunities for us to support the game in more reactive, timely ways," the executive added.
Pope's latest revelation about "Rock Band 4" came weeks after Harmonix confirmed the development of the project. Previously, the studio announced that it will not create new designs for the game's instrument-based controllers, Game Rant reported.
Instead, Harmonix will continue to work closely with its partner Fender in crafting Stratocaster-looking guitar peripherals.
In addition, the company mentioned that the new game will support the controllers used for previous "Rock Band" titles except for the keyboard and the customized Stratocaster for the Pro Mode of "Rock Band 3."
In preparation for the game's launch in October, Harmonix posted a poll on its website to ask gamers what songs they would like to see in the fourth "Rock Band" game.
According to the studio, although each gamer can submit more than one request through the poll, not all songs will be included in the game. However, Harmonix promised that it will go through each submission from the gamers.
