After Xbox Wire announced the latest development on the Xbox One Cross Play, thoughts on what games will actually end up on the console became the topic of concern.
One thing is for sure, the announcement confirmed Psyonix's "Rocket League" as the first game to be introduced on the new cross play feature.
So what does Psyonix really feel about it? An official statement was released on the Rocket League's website saying: "To say that the team here at Psyonix is both honored and excited to have Rocket League as the first cross-network game is a massive understatement. Cross-network play has been the number-one most requested feature our community has asked for since Rocket League was first announced on Xbox One, and now that we are able to pursue complete online unity on all platforms, today's announcement is a dream come true."
Whether they meant, they're happy for "Rocket League" expanding to other platforms or they are planning on creating more games for cross play purposes, the team did not confirm anything. Currently, the game developer has confirmed the "Rocket League" to be available between the Xbox One console and PC, but promised to announce possible availability to other consoles.
Currently, Xbox Wire has only announced the upcoming Xbox One Cross Play for PC, but details on how to actually go about it has not yet been detailed. It is safe to say that, Psyonix is happy that "Rocket League" made it to the Xbox One Cross Play, not only as an entry to the list, but as the first game ever to launch on the new feature.
"Rocket League" will now be automatically made available on the PC platform once the feature is launched. According to Microsoft, the game will be placed with an open invitation for other platforms.
"We're thrilled to confirm that Psyonix's Rocket League will be one of the first games to take advantage of this new capability by enabling cross-network play between Xbox One and PC players, with an open invitation for other networks to participate as well," the Xbox Wire statement reads.
