While Samsung is enjoying the considerable success following the recent unveiling of its latest next-generation smartphones, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, a new report has claimed that there will be an unfixable hardware issue to come with these devices which could have a negative impact on potential buyers' interest in the new phones.
Such report has been claiming that it is unlikely for the upcoming Galaxy S6 smartphones to be entirely reliable because of the hardware issue. In particular, both models will reportedly have touchscreen displays that have an issue with the screen's bezels.
Furthermore, there a decrease in sensitivity is also expected which will result to handwritings and scribbles barely registering on the phones.
Following the release of the report, tech experts and Galaxy phone owners disagreed with such claims and insisted that the low level of sensitivity on the phones' edges will be used as a built-in protection. When users hold the phone at its edges, the device will be less sensitive to unintentional swipes and other movements.
Owners of other smartphones from Samsung, such as the Galaxy S5, have explained that their own devices have a similar setup and that the company intended to decrease such sensitivity on the screen displays.
However, an additional photo in the report showed two devices that were not from Samsung and were tested using the same technology. It was indicated that both gadgets have full edge sensitivity which does not get in the way with where the user is holding the phone.
Until the next-gen smartphones are actually made available to the public, it remains unconfirmed whether there really is a hardware screen display and sensitivity issue.
Samsung introduced the highly-anticipated Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge on March 1 to a large mass of fans and potential customers. Their predecessor, the Galaxy S5, had a less impressive debut at last year's event as it was met with negative reviews for simply copying the design and features of the older Galaxy S4 device.
Addressing these concerns, the South Korean company carried out a major overhaul in terms of the overall design and development of the Galaxy S6. While many tech critics have been asserting that the S6 smartphone closely resembles the iPhone 6 when it comes to design, the S6 Edge has been praised for its distinct curved-edge display.
It was also recently reported that Samsung has received at least 20 million pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Numerous carriers and regions have not made the devices available for preorder yet. In the U.S., only Verizon has been the major carrier to make an official announcement on pre-order plans.
