Just a couple of weeks after the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona ended, there are already reports claiming the release of the next-generation Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone to the US market.
According to the report by GSM Arena, one of the most popular Android smartphones today will officially hit US stores by April 11. The tip came from a source who allegedly works for one of the four major carriers in the country.
While that date may still be nearly a month from now, at least it gives interested customers ample time to prepare their finances. Dubbed as 'Project Zero' during its development, the Samsung Galaxy S6 does not come cheap.
In another report, the price list for the Galaxy S6 has allegedly been unveiled. The price list is aimed at the markets in the Middle East, but the details provide information regarding the actual price tag of the Android-powered flagship.
In the report, the Galaxy S6 that has a 32GB internal memory and a single SIM option will cost $714 in Qatar. Meanwhile, the same 32GB model with dual-SIM compatibility will priced a little higher at $741.
On the other hand, the Galaxy S6 Edge will have a more expensive price tag ranging from $851 to $1043 based on the storage options.
For those who have missed the MWC event, the Samsung Galaxy S6 packs a 5.1-inch display with QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, 3GB of RAM, either a 16GB, 32GB of 64GB internal storage, and no microSD card slots.
The camera department features a 16MP primary camera with OIS (optical image stabilization) and can record 2K videos, while in front is a 5MP shooter that can shoot 1K clips.
Running the entire device is a home-manufactured Exynos 7420 chipset with octa-core CPUs. While this is not the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, performance levels are still reportedly similar if not identical.
In the report, the Galaxy S6 will hit all four major US carriers - Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.
