King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia
King Abdullah, the king of Saudi Arabia warned the Western world that the U.S. and Europe is in danger of an imminent terrorist attack from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and/or other terrorist militant organizations.
Saudi Arabia remains a major political ally of the United States in the Middle East area and King Abdullah stated that, "These terrorists do not know the name of humanity and you have witnessed them severing heads and giving them to children to walk with in the street." at a conference with foreign ambassadors from Europe and America (Fox News).
King Abdullah is pointing to the fact that ISIS is gaining capabilities to infiltrate major European states and America thanks to the considerable number of European and American Muslims who have recently started to travel from their home countries to join the militants and to fight for their cause. Two American citizens are already reported to have "killed in action" while fighting for the U.S. and one British Muslim was believed to be responsible for the beheading of American journalist James Foley.
Countries all over the world are working to detain their Muslim citizens from leaving the country and travelling to the Middle East. Because these people all own European and U.S. passports and in some cases even citizenships, they are capable of re-entering their respective countries to carry out terrorist activities.
Saudi Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz al-Sheikh, who is considered the most influential religious leader in the Middle East issued the following statement last month through the Saudi Press Agency that condemned ISIS as a considerable threat to the Islam faith: "Extremist and militant ideas and terrorism which spread decay on earth, destroying human civilization are not in any way part of Islam, but are enemy number one of Islam, and Muslims are their first victims."
Intelligence and police have announced that ISIS members are currently operating in Juarez near El Paso, Texas. Juarez is known to have a notoriously high crime rate and U.S. intelligence reported that they heard radio talk that led to their conclusion that the people who are responsible for these violent crimes are from the Islamic State. The radio talk told intelligence that someone is planning an attack on the U.S. Army post in El Paso "very soon".
Meanwhile, the U.S. government announced that there are around 300 American and 500 British citizens who are fighting for the Islamic State.
