Before "Scream Queens' makes its way to FOX this month, producer Ryan Murphy recently announced that Patrick Schwarzenegger, son of Arnold Schwarzenegger, has signed on to the new comedy-horror anthology series.
Schwarzenegger joins one of the most popular new shows for fall 2015, and Murphy was the first to drop the news as he continues to build up his TV empire after the commercial success of the hit FX series "American Horror Story'.
With Emma Roberts taking on the leading character, the producer previously explained that "Scream Queens' should be deemed as a much more different program than "American Horror Story' because the new show takes on a lighter vibe and incorporates a comedy element in its first season.
Even the violence is said to be more toned down for "Scream Queens' when compared to the dreadful and disturbing scenes in the "American Horror Story' anthology. Nonetheless, this does not mean that the upcoming show will not have its own share of terrors and thrills.
According to Murphy, only four of the 25 cast members who will be playing a featured role in "Scream Queens' season one will survive.
In addition, "Scream Queens' will have a new location and will follow a new story for every season. On the other hand, the new FOX series will include recurring characters who continue to exist from one season of the program to the next.
""¦Like a sorority is a horror genre to me, it's a place where there were horror movies in the '80s like Sorority Row "” and they will go on," Murphy said. "That's the format of the show."
"Scream Queens' is set to air its first episode on Sept. 22 with a supersized two-hour premiere; with the first episode, Murphy promises anticipating viewers that the action and havoc will kick into high gear right away.
"In the first episode, you've met the killer and there's a big clue dropped in the first episode as to who the killer is, so you'd have to go back and really watch it," he revealed.
The new anthology series is also said to acknowledge several classic horror movies, such as "Halloween' and "Friday the 13th.'
Aside from Roberts, Schwarzenegger joins Lea Michele, Jamie Lee Curtis, Oliver Hudson, Keke Palmer, Nick Jonas and Ariana Grande, to name a few.
The 21-year-old rising star will appear next in the Halloween release "Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse,' and has bagged a supporting role opposite Isabelle Fuhrman and Jessica Alba in the coming-of-age flick "Dear Eleanor.'
