Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos wants to stay at Bernabeu despite strong interest from Manchester United.
Pacqui Garcia, Ramos' mother, said in an interview Antena 3 that the Spanish international does not want to leave Real Madrid. "Of course, Real Madrid before all else," Garcia said via ESPN FC.
Ramos has been the subject of transfer rumors over the past several weeks, but Garcia does not see her son moving to Manchester United because of his desire to stay in Spain.
"No, I don't think so," Garcia said when asked about the possibility of his son moving to Old Trafford before the start of the new season. "Let's go. He wants Spain."
The Red Devils wants to acquire Ramos to boost their defense, but reports indicated they are not willing to increase their €40 million offer. Real Madrid are demanding for a higher transfer fee, but Manchester United believe their most recent offer is enough for a 29-year-old defender like Ramos.
Reports also indicated the Red Devils are planning to arrange a swap that will send goalkeeper David De Gea to Bernabeu in exchange for Ramos, but Real Madrid are not open to such deal.
Marcos Rojo Says Angel Di Maria Should Stay at Old Trafford
Angel Di Maria struggled in his first season with Manchester United after moving via a record-setting £59.7 million transfer. His inconsistent performance last season led to speculation the Red Devils might sell him this summer.
Di Maria scored three goals and posted 10 assists in 20 Premier League appearances last season. But despite failing to live up to expectations last season, Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo said his fellow Argentine should stay with the club because he is their best player.
"There are great players at the club but Angel, for me, is one of the best in the team and in the world," Rojo told the Copa America website. "It has been a difficult year for him. He had some problems adapting but that's normal. Any player coming to a new country and a new league has to adapt to the differences and that's what happens."
