Sony Pictures Animation is set to bring "Hotel Transylvania' onto the small screen as the studio, along with Corus Entertainment's Nelvana, formally announced its plans of developing the Adam Sandler-voiced film into an animated TV series.

The will reportedly follow the story of Dracula's daughter Mavis as she spends her teen years with her eccentric friends. Although Selena Gomez lent her voice to the two films as Mavis, no casting details have been announced yet.

Scheduled for a premiere in early 2017, 'Hotel Transylvania' will be executive produced Sony Pictures Animation's Rick Mischel together with Nelvana's Colin Bohm and Irene Weibel.

"We're excited to be entering into a new relationship with Sony Pictures Animation to extend the world of "Hotel Transylvania' into a new TV series," said Bohm, vice president and head of Corus Kids. "The hilarious characters and clever premise of "Hotel Transylvania' set the stage for endless story possibilities."

President of Sony Pictures Animation Kristine Belson added that the animated series can be expected to reach out easily to viewers due to its amusing characters and entertaining storyline.

"Audiences have embraced the world and characters of "Hotel Transylvania,' so we are thrilled to be partnering with Nelvana to take them on new adventures, expanding on the teenage years of Mavis and her friends at the world-famous monster five star resort!," Belson shared.

"Corus Entertainment's Nelvana is a perfect creative partner and we look forward to sharing more Hotel Transylvania monster laughs with fans of all ages," Sony Pictures Animation executive producer Rick Mischel said.

Meanwhile, Sandler returns as Count Dracula in the upcoming "Hotel Transylvania 2', helmed by Genndy Tartakovsky.

Sony previously unveiled the latest Hotel Transylvania 2 trailer, which highlights several changes that Drac and his pack will be facing, including the possibility of his daughter Mavis finally moving in with husband Johnny (Andy Samberg).

The Count finally lightens up and shuts down his main rule that only allow monsters to stay in his hotel.

While he has begun opening the hotel's doors to human guests, Dracula remains deeply troubled over his half-human, half-vampire grandson Dennis, who is not showing any signs of having vampire blood in him.

As Mavis sets out to pay her human in-laws a visit with husband Johnny, her vampire dad enlists his close monster pals, including Frank (Kevin James), Murray (Keegan-Michael Key), Wayne (Steve Buscemi) and Griffin (David Spade), to help him put Dennis in a training camp as an attempt to stir up any vampire-related tendencies in the child, if there is any.

Dracula's own father Vlad (Mel Brooks) is also paying a surprise visit to the hotel, only to discover that his great-grandson is not a pure-blood vampire.

Featuring a script penned by Sandler and Robert Smigel, the sequel makes it way to cinemas on Sept. 25.
