New rumors surrounding Sony suggest that the company is preparing to unveil two new high-end devices before the IFA event.
Various sources speculated that the handsets, codenamed as the Xperia S60 and Xperia S70, will be introduced next month.
The information regarding Sony's upcoming products came from WinFuture, a tech site based in Germany. According to the site's sources, dealers in Europe are expecting the company to introduce the devices on August 18.
Details about the two mysterious devices are still unclear but according to Phone Arena, the Xperia S60 and Xperia S70 are expected to both come with 32GB of RAM. Also, the former will reportedly come in black, white, yellow and Coralie color variants while the latter model will be available in black, green, white and gold.
Although the exact specs of the mysterious are still unknown, their rumored price range strongly indicates that Sony will market them as high-end devices. According to dealers, the devices might go on sale between $853 and $919.
As to the handsets' alleged launch date, Sony might be deliberately trying to avoid this year's IFA, an annual event held in October showcasing upcoming products from consumer tech giants.
By unveiling the Xperia S60 and Xperia S70 at an earlier date, Sony will be able to avoid directly competing against other companies that are targeting to launch their upcoming devices in September.
It seems this move is already becoming a trend among companies as Sony is not the only firm rumored to be targeting an early product launch.
Like the Japanese firm, it was also rumored that Samsung will skip this year's IFA as the launch avenue for its upcoming flagship phablet, the Galaxy Note 5. According to insiders, Samsung might introduce the device in August to avoid clashing with Apple's September launch for the iPhone 6S.
But, even if Sony decides to debut the two Xperia handsets in August, the company still has another device that will reportedly be introduced in September.
According to GSM Arena, Sony is preparing to introduce its next flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z5, in Japan two months from now.
Details about its display andother features are still unknown but the device is expected to be powered with the Snapdragon 820 processor. It will pack 4GB of RAM and will come with a 21-megapixel main camera equipped with Sony's Exmor RS IMX230 CMOS sensor.
However, readers should take note that Sony has not yet addressed the circulating rumors regarding the Xperia S60, Xperia S70 and Xperia Z.
