It appears that Spiderman will no longer be called "Amazing," "Spectacular," or "Ultimate" anymore as the Internet goes on a frenzy following the rumor that the highly anticipated project involving everyone's favorite webslinger will be titled "Spider: The New Avenger," according to Screen Rant.

The speculation began when Umberto Gonzales, a reviewer who worked with Latino Review, posted on his Instagram page the possibility of using this title for the upcoming Marvel reboot of the Spiderman franchise. "RT! #UNCONFIRMED #RUMOR Take with the tiniest grain of salt pending further confirmation. I'm being told the working title for the untitled SPIDER-MAN stand alone film is SPIDER-MAN:THE NEW AVENGER Again, it's Sunday so take with grain pending further confirmation. What do you think of title?" he posted.

The report pointed out that including the character in the Avengers right off the bat would definitely give the franchise the much needed boost in both its publicity and financial gains following the lukewarm welcome received by the previous installment, The Amazing Spiderman, which featured Andrew Garfield. With an established fan base, Marvel's Spiderman reboot will be able to enjoy the popularity of the Avengers team.

With this in mind, one of the most persistent rumors regarding the plot of the upcoming reboot is the inclusion of Iron Man, played by Robert Downey, Jr., in the standalone film of the webslinger. According to reports, Spiderman will be "tested" by the older superhero to determine whether the former could handle being part of their team. Needless to say, this rumor brought excitement to fans and followers of the series as this would mean getting to see Iron Man himself engaging Spiderman in what may potentially be an action-packed film.

Earlier this year, reports came out commenting on the age group Spiderman will belong. Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel studios, revealed that the latest version of Spiderman will be featured in his teens. "In terms of the age of an actor we'll eventually to cast, I don't know," he admitted. "In terms of the age of what we believe Peter Parker is, I'd say 15-16 is right," he shared.

The executive elucidated that the decision to place Spiderman in the high school setting was rooted from their desire to explore "so many things from the comics that haven't been done yet" in all five versions of the hero's story. Apart from the other characters and villains who have not been introduced to the public, Feige believes that the young Peter Parker's personality will be a fertile ground for new angles to feature in the upcoming film.

The Marvel version of the Spider-Man film is scheduled for release on July 28, 2017.
