EA Digital Illusions CE (DICE) has revealed the details of the three new multiplayer game modes that have been added to the upcoming "Star Wars Battlefront."
These new modes are titled "Hero Hunt," "Cargo" and "Droid Run," Gamespot reported.
As explained by the developer, "Hero Hunt" pits seven gamers against one player. The one player can either play as a Hero or Villain character while trying to defeat the seven attacking gamers. Once the Hero or Villain has been defeated, the player who made the kill will take the place of the single player.
He or she will then have to the other opposing gamers. The player who is able to maintain the role of the Hero or Villain for the longest time before the match ends will be declared as the winner.
"Cargo," on the other hand, features the basic theme of capture the flag game modes but with an added twist. In this mode, two teams with six players each will have to steal cargo from their respective bases.
However, unlike the traditional capture the flag concept, gamers do not have to bring back their original cargo to their bases before stealing new ones from the opposing team.
This 15-minute game mode starts with an equal score of 5-5, which represents the ten cargos divided among the two teams. Once a player steals a cargo from the enemy's base, the score will be displayed as 6-4.
Like "Cargo," "Droid Run" features two teams composed of six players each. The objective in this mode is to capture and control all of the three GNK droids roaming around the map.
According to Dennis Brannvall, the lead level designer for "Star Wars Battlefront," since the droids will be constantly running around, gamers can choose to utilize various strategic techniques to capture them.
They can make use of the various weapons scattered within the map but they are not allowed to use vehicles, Heroes and Villains.
"The strategies used are somewhat different than for instance 'Cargo,' where your positions are more strict," the designed said in a statement. "You can choose a slower, explosive play style by equipping Thermal Detonators and Cycler Rifles."
"But your team can also embrace the dynamic, chaotic nature of the game mode and equip Jump Packs to get around the map and chase the Droids as fast as possible," he added.
"Star Wars Battlefront" is scheduled to debut on November 17 in North America and will hit other parts of the world on November 19. It will be released for the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
