Prior to the release of an all-new "Star Wars: The Force Awakens' trailer, Japanese viewers were lucky enough to watch a previously unseen footage from the highly anticipated film. The extra clip released features female lead Rey (Daisy Ridley) and former Imperial stormtrooper Finn (John Boyega), but has not included any signs of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill).
The "Star Wars: The Force Awakens' trailer, which has already gone viral on social media, opens with Rey scavenging through a worn-out Imperial cruiser. This is then followed by a clip of her meeting new droid BB-8 and saving it from a Jakku trader.
Finn is then entered into the footage as he and Rey can be seen running away from a new group of elite Imperial stormtroopers who call themselves the First Order.
Previously unseen footage in the trailer includes the mysterious Captain Phasma portrayed by "Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2' actress Gwendoline Christie, along with the villainous Kylo Ren, played by Adam Driver.
Speculations have claimed that Kylo Ren is a member of the next generation in the Star Wars universe and could be the son of Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), and that Rey might be their daughter.
According to a leaked synopsis, Kylo Ren will be the main villain in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens' as the cruel dark prince desperately searches for the lightsaber, which falls out of Jakku where Rey (Daisy Ridley) works as a space scavenger.
Sooner or later, Finn gets his hands on the lightsaber that is rumored to belong to Luke Skywalker. This will ultimately lead to an epic journey as Finn and Rey seek out the Jedi Master who has been living in self-imposed exile. As reports have been claiming, only Luke, the galaxy's greatest warrior, can win over the dark warrior Kylo Ren.
Extended footage has also been included in the Millennium Falcon where Rey and Finn come acros Han Solo and his good friend and co-pilot Chewbacca. The original C-3PO (Anthony Daniels) is also featured in the clip, sporting a new red arm.
Solo can also be heard, saying "It's true, all of it," when asked whether the talk about the Empire's fall had been real. The video then shows an encounter between Rey and Kylo Ren where he holds his crossguard lightsaber to her face.
The trailer ends with Rey crying over what has been widely rumored to be Solo's dead body, as he is speculated to have been killed by Kylo Ren, along with a voiceover that says, "Hope is not lost today, it is found".
Los Angeles-based comedian Mark Ellis took to social media and tweeted: "WOW that new Star Wars trailer is the best Japanese gift I've received since Super Nintendo!"
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is set for an official release on Dec. 16, 2015.
