As the premiere date of Lucasfilm's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens' draws near, more character posters have been released online. These include Harrison Ford's Han Solo, Carrie Fisher's Leia Organa, Daisy Ridley's Rey, John Boyega's Finn, and Adam Driver's Kylo Ren.
Meanwhile, the official poster for the upcoming "Star Wars' movie shows traditional elements including space battles and the film's well-loved characters. The different sizes that they are shown in also seemingly suggest their relevance in the movie.
Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) together with a small C-3PO, R2D2 and the latest droid BB-8 are easily noticeable in the poster.
Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) seems to be absent in the image, unless he is concealed or disguised as one of the troopers, similar to what happened during his rescue mission for Princess Leia in 1977's "Star Wars: A New Hope.'
New characters Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyega) are greatly visible in the poster, which suggests that they are playing a bigger role this time than the original trio of Han, Luke and Leia. Even the mysteriously cloaked dark prince Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) towers over them all.
Other characters included in the poster are First Order Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie), First Order officier General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson) as well as ace pilot and Resistance leader Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac).
As stated in a leaked synopsis, Kylo Ren will be the main antagonist in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens' as he threatens the intergalactic peace. The merciless prince desperately searches for the lightsaber, which falls out of Jakku where Rey (Daisy Ridley) works as a space scavenger.
As for Finn, he eventually gets his hands on the lightsaber that is said to belong to Luke Skywalker. This will ultimately lead to an epic journey as Finn and Rey seek out the Jedi Master who has been living in self-imposed exile.
As reports have been claiming, only Luke, the galaxy's greatest warrior, can win over the dark warrior Kylo Ren.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is set for an official release on Dec. 16, 2015.
The film's stars recently supported a good cause by taking to social media and retweeting the hashtag #ForceForDaniel in support for Daniel Fleetwood, a 32-year-old terminally ill cancer patient.
As a huge "Star Wars' fan, Fleetwood asked permission from Walt Disney Studios to watch "Star Wars: The Force Awakens' ahead of its official release. The Texas native is suffering from spindle cell sarcoma, and in July, was given only two months to live.
"I just love "Star Wars.' With everything I've got, I love "Star Wars,'" he said to NBC affiliate KPRC. "Judging by how progressive the disease has gotten in the past two months, I really don't think that I'll be able to make it."
Walt Disney Studios and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens' director J.J. Abrams are yet to respond to Fleetwood's request.
