Capcom has previously revealed that more characters will be added to "Street Fighter V" through DLCs.
Recently, the producer of the game named the six characters that will be unveiled as part of "Street Fighter V's" post-launch updates.
According to Cinemablend, the six characters coming next year are Urien, Balrog, Guile, Ibuki, Alex and Juri. Koichi Sugiyama, the producer of the game, said that Capcom is already developing these characters and more information about each of them will be revealed soon.
The site noted that like the other characters included in the roster, the upcoming fighter probably receive the same treatment. More specifically, their appearances will probably be updated and slightly modified like what Capcom did with Ryu and Dhalsim.
With the latest revelation, the character lineup of "Street Fighter V" has jumped from 16 to 22. But, despite the growing roster, it's still very noticeable that the game is missing a few fan-favorites like Sagat and Blanka.
Last week, game producer Yoshinori Ono revealed that currently, Capcom has no plans of including these two characters in the game's roster. This is because the developers believe Sagat and Blanka share the same fighting styles as other characters.
"It's because there are many characters that perform similarly," he said according to Siliconera. "For this launch and its next update, we wanted to have a good balance of characters. Since we didn't want to just blindly increase the number of characters, it was a bitter decision that had to be made."
"I understand that there are also many who wish to see other characters besides Sagat, such as Blanka and more," Ono added. "There's a possibility that we may add more characters in some form later, so please look forward to that."
Although Ono mentioned that Sagat and Blanka may appear in a future update, they won't probably arrive next year since Capcom has already stated that only the six recently announced characters will be unveiled in 2016.
As for the release of the DLCs, the studio noted that one character will be added to the roster every two months following the game's official launch. And, thanks to Capcom's latest system, gamers will not have to spend real-world cash to get the content updates.
Instead, they can purchase them using in-game currency known as Fight Money which they can earn by participating in daily challenges, online battles and other matches.
"Street Fighter V" is scheduled to come out in February 16, 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and PC platforms.
