It's almost Super Bowl Sunday and as far as American football fans are concerned, it's all about who will win between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots.
SB Nation believes the game will certainly be a close one as the the best teams from the National Football Conference (NFC) and American Football Conference (AFC), respectively, will battle it out in front of thousands of fans at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and millions of viewers all over the United States and worldwide.
The Patriots are expected to fight hard with its well celebrated quarterback in Tom Brady in the hope of spoiling Seattle's back-to-back title bid. Brady has been on target for the Patriots this season, solidifying his status as one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history.
Meanwhile, the Seahawks will once again test their dreaded brick-wall defense against a tough Patriots squad. Seattle has reportedly fought against the best offensive teams in the NFC and it managed to push through and finish on top of the conference. On Sunday, the Seahawks hope that their defense will be enough for them to become the first team to win back-to-back Super Bowls in a decade.
However, anything can happen on Sunday as Super Bowl XLIX is just a single-game affair, and whoever wins the match takes home gold and glory. As far as odds go, the Patriots slightly gets the advantage with a +1 in several sites. However, national media and sports experts believe that the match is too close to call.
Among the 11 major sports websites asked about the big winner on tomorrow's Super Bowl, six reported that majority of their writers picked the Seahawks. There were also three news sites whose majority of writers predicted a win for the Patriots. Meanwhile, two websites, SB Nation and Sports Illustrated, had their writers evenly split between the Seattle and New England.
Most analysts are also convinced the battle between New England and Seattle will be much better than the lopsided match betwen the Seahawks and the Denver Broncos last season. The Seahawks led from the get go and never looked back, winning the Super Bowl 2013 with a lopsided 43-8 victory against the Broncos.
