Nintendo recently announced that it will launch a massive update for the "Super Mario Maker" on the Wii U.
Aside from the added content, the update will also be accompanied by a web service that will let players search for new courses and levels using their computers and mobile devices, according to Kotaku.
One of the features of the upcoming update is the Fire Koopa Clown Car. As described by Nintendo, this is a volcano-looking vehicle that's capable of shooting fireballs and destroying bricks.
Yosuke Oshino, the director of the game, said that the development of this item was inspired by the courses made by some of the gamers. He noted that this new addition will hopefully bring a shoot-em-up vibe to the game.
"We've been inspired by the huge number of course that everyone has posted," he said according to Gamespot. "There haven't been any shooter game-like elements in the 'Mario' series to date, but as 'Super Mario Maker' offers so much freedom, we're hoping that users will be able to make even more worlds for Mario that have never before been seen."
Another new addition to the game is the Bumper item. This circular object can be used to send Mario bouncing away. Also, Nintendo will include P Warp Doors which will only be visible to gamers once the P Switch is activated.
According to Oshino, gamers can use these special doors to create trickier and more intricate puzzles and mazes in "Super Mario Maker."
But aside from these new in-game content, Nintendo will also launch a new online service dubbed as the "Super Mario Maker" Bookmark. Using their Nintendo Network ID, gamers can login to this portal site using their tablet, smartphones or desktop computers. They can then use this site to look for specific courses with the help of filters and tags.
"Players have already created and shared a huge number of course, and now it will be easier and more fun than ever for players to create a find levels they will love to play," Scott Moffitt, the vice president of sales and marketing for Nintendo of America said in a press release.
"Combining classic 'Mario' gameplay with the creative fun of making and sharing levels, 'Super Mario Maker' is a perfect experience for the holidays," he added.
Nintendo officially debuted "Super Mario Maker" in North America on September 11 of this year. It is exclusively available for the company's Wii U console.
