Google is reportedly in talks with smartphone makers Huawei and LG for its upcoming Nexus device.
Although it still does not have a name, rumors suggest that the future member of the Nexus family will be a phablet and will sport a 5.7-inch display, according to Droid-Life.
The details about the partnership between the three tech giants are still unclear. But according to Chinese analyst Pan Jiutang, who claims to have inside information regarding the project, Huawei will manufacture Google's next Nexus product.
He added that the upcoming device will be powered by the Snapdragon 810 chipset from Qualcomm and its display will feature a quad HD OLED screen with a resolution of 1440x2560 pixels.
Other sources said the phablet will come with 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded to up to 128GB through a microSD card. For its main camera, Huawei will reportedly equip the Nexus device with a 16-megapixel rear shooter. On the other side, it will sport an 8-megapixel front camera.
Given the device's screen size, the model falls right in between the 4.95-inch Nexus 5 and the 5.96-inch Nexus 6. Despite this fact, it is unclear if Google will name the upcoming device based on these models or if it will be marketed as an upgraded version of a previous Nexus design.
As for its launch date, Yibada noted that Google might introduce its upcoming product sometime this year. Specifically, the company might unveil its next Nexus device in November during its annual I/O conference.
If this is true, then the device might run on the anticipated Android M OS, which is expected to be launched by Google during the tech event.
