Things have caught on a fast pace in "Teen Wolf' season five, and fans have constantly questioned whether Dr. Alan Deaton is really capable of finding out anything about the Dread Doctors that will help Scott (Tyler Posey) and his pack in rescuing Liam (Dylan Sprayberry) and Hayden (Victoria Moroles).
In episode seven titled "Strange Frequencies,' potential antagonist, Theo (Cody Christian), briefly bonded with Stiles (Dylan O' Brien) and was able to talk him into keeping Josh's death a secret.
As for pack leader Scott, he was joined by his friends and police officer Parrish (Ryan Kelley) to develop a plan for capturing one of the Dread Doctors.
Unfortunately, their scheme backfired as Liam and Hayden were captured instead, with the villainous doctors experimenting on them right away. As such, going on a rescue mission for their friends has become their main concern, but it will be more complicated as it seems.
The eighth episode titled "Ouroboros" is already dropping hints. The term "ouroboros" refers to "the serpent biting, devouring, or eating its own tail." As one of the world's oldest mythological symbols, the term represents infinity as well as the duality in one's nature.
This could suggest that the hybrid supernatural creatures might be a depiction of such duality.
The episode's title could also be a clue with regards to Parrish's nature. He was seen as being resistant to fire in "Teen Wolf' season four, and fans are speculating that he might be comparable to a phoenix, a supernatural creature that also symbolizes infinity as suggested by its continuous cycle of death and regeneration.
Despite numerous speculations on what is to come before the fifth season ends, what remains certain is that rescuing Liam and Hayden will require the help of veterinarian Dr. Deaton (Seth Gilliam) who is bound to make "a horrific discovery about the Dread Doctors."
Aside from obtaining more details about the Dread Doctors, viewers can also expect to finally meet the mysterious Desert Wolf. The hunt for the extraordinary creature ends as "NCIS' actress Marisol Nichols has already signed on to the hit series as the Desert Wolf.
Nichols' character is the biological mother of Malia, played by Shelley Hennig on the MTV series.
Same as her daughter, the Desert Wolf is also a werecoyote, although Malia knows very little about her as she was taken into adoption by the Tate family shortly after her birth.
Details about the exact episode as to when the Desert Wolf makes her first appearance are being kept mum. However, Lydia's flashback in the premiere of the fifth season implied that the mother-daughter reunion will not be a touching one.
"Teen Wolf' season five, episode eight, "Ouroboros,' will air on Monday, Aug. 10 at 10 p.m. on MTV. Its teaser trailer can be viewed below.
