"The Big Bang Theory" star Mayim Bialik, who plays Sheldon Cooper's love interest Amy Farrah Fowler in the show got asked several times if she would be coming back to the show for season nine now that Amy and Sheldon have taken a break from each other.
On her personal blog called "Kveller," Bialik answered: "Of course!"
"Just because my character needed 'time off' from Sheldon doesn't mean we are broken up, and it certainly doesn't mean I am not coming back as a cast member," she wrote.
Bialik said that she missed working on "The Big Bang Theory" set, especially since she loves spending time with her co-stars. "Because I like my castmates, and we are accustomed to spending a lot of time together. Sure, we get together here and there on hiatus, but we have busy lives," she shared.
Kunal Nayyar, who plays Raj Koothrapali and Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon both did plays in New York during the season break, while Bialik travelled to Israel with her family and did a "Lifetime" movie with Ryan McPartlin. She was also busy promoting the show's new LEGO set, which is inspired by a fan creation that showed the seven friends enjoying Chinese take-out in Sheldon and Leonard's living room.
The actress is so thankful that they all have active Instagram accounts, which allowed them to follow each other's adventures even though they are far away from each other.
She is really excited for fans to see the new season of "The Big Bang Theory," since it will finally answer the questions fans have regarding Sheldon and Amy's relationship status, as well as Leonard and Penny's impromptu wedding.
"Season 9 picks up literally less than 24 hours after Season 8 ended. So we will deal with everything you saw in the season finale: Leonard and Penny going to Las Vegas to get married, and Amy taking time off from Sheldon," she said.
"It's a very funny episode. It doesn't tie everything up in a neat package; our show rarely does that. It's a lot of group scenes, and some really good one-on-one scenes as well. Kevin Sussman ("Stuart") is back with some lines that are making me crack up in rehearsal already. It's a great season opener," she added. "We all have a lot of catching up to do off camera. And on camera, we are all so excited to bring you Season 9."
