As far as Marvel villains are concerned, Tom Hiddleston's Loki has got to be one of the most beloved characters of all time. Even though he is always up to no good and double-crossing his half brother Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth), people still seem to adore him and love seeing him stir up trouble on the big screen.
So when Collider excitedly asked what's next for Hiddleston's character in the next Thor standalone movie "Ragnarok," the British actor was hard-pressed for answers.
"I'm sorry to say I have nothing to give you. I literally have nothing. I don't know what's happening," he laughingly said. "That's what I know, that's literally the limits of what I know."
Hiddleston was also asked how many more stints he has as Thor's sneaky half-brother, and once again, he scrimped on his reply.
"Honestly, I don't know. It's all in Kevin Feige's brain. It feels like the Marvel Universe is expanding at such a rate, and I wish - I'm not being coy - I don't know where Loki fits into that. So we'll see. Your guess is as good as mine," he said.
The actor made his first appearance as Loki in the 2011 "Thor" film, followed by "The Avengers" in 2012, where audiences got a good laugh seeing him being beaten by the Hulk. He was last seen in "Thor: The Dark World" in 2013 faking his own death and fooling Thor as Odin.
In a separate interview with The Hollywood Reporter, which he shared with "I Saw the Light" co-star Elizabeth Olsen, the pair were asked who between their characters would win in a battle. Olsen, who first portrayed the Scarlet Witch in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" naturally answered that she would win hands down.
"I think Scarlet Witch would win - she's one of the most powerful people in the universe," she said.
"I Saw the Light" writer and director Marc Abraham cannot help but agree, adding: "I'm betting on Scarlet Witch."
But Hiddleston is unfazed by their thoughts and begs to differ. "The thing is, you're dealing with someone who's a witch, which is admittedly impressive biographically," he said.
"But you put that up against a god, I'm just not sure that there's a fair contest," he said of Loki. "He's an immortal being, so my chips are firmly in Loki's corner."
"Thor: Ragnarok" has been scheduled for release on July 28, 2017.
