"Avengers: Age of Ultron" star Mark Ruffalo, who plays the terrifying green giant Hulk for Marvel is quite excited about his involvement in Chris Hemsworth's third "Thor" film, which has already been entitled "Ragnarok."
He even compared "Thor: Ragnarok" to Robert De Niro's 1988 American action comedy "Midnight Run," wherein De Niro plays a hilarious bounty hunter who was hired by
Joe Pantoliano's Eddie Moscone to track down a mob accountant.
"There's a little bit of Midnight Run, with (Charles) Grodin and (Robert) De Niro," he shared during an interview with Empire. "I feel like that's kind of where we're heading with this relationship between Thor and Banner."
"It is a universal road movie - that's where we're heading...It's not where you'd think it will be, so it's not your classic road movie but it has that structure, I think," he added.
Hemsworth earlier said that he would like to incorporate some humor in the third "Thor" film, and it looks like he got his wish because Ruffalo is now teasing that Thor and Hulk's dynamic would definitely make audiences laugh.
"I love Chris (Hemsworth), and it's not an accident that we've been put together because we have a good time together and we goof off. The fact that we're moving towards the smart-comedic bent plays into our relationship," he shared.
However, it won't be all fun and games for the two, since at one point, Thor and Hulk will find themselves at odds with one another.
"I think they'll probably fight," Ruffalo told The New York Daily News. "There's no doubt, everyone wants us to fight at one point."
Back then, Ruffalo claimed to be clueless about the movie's plot, although he did say that "Thor: Ragnarok" is definitely going to be a "buddy picture."
As for the theme, Ruffalo said: "I know that it's about (the Norse legends of) 'Ragnarok,' or the end times in the Marvel universe as it pertains to Thor - which seems to be quite the theme these days in movies."
Ruffalo also gushed about the complex world Marvel has created for superheroes, and he is simply happy that he got to be a part of it.
"There are thousands of different characters that are part of this imaginary world and the Hulk is just one little tiny piece of it. It does put everything in perspective; you have to check your ego at the door," he said.
"Thor: Ragnarok" is expected to hit cinemas on November 3, 2017.
