More than ten years after Activision delivered the skateboarding game "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4," the company might be gearing for the release of the series' latest installment.
Based on an imaged taken from an event organized by the company, Activision is working on a game called "Tony Hawk 5," according to Cinema Blend.
As odd as it may sound, the image was leaked by a caterer hired by the company. Although chef Joe Youkan did not intentionally mean to reveal Activision's upcoming project, he accidentally did so after taking a selfie and sharing it through his Instagram account.
In the picture obtained by Game-Debate, Youkham is standing in the middle of a half-pipe that's been filled with tables and chairs for about 80 people. Behind the structure is a projector screen showing the title "Tony Hawk 5."
It is not yet confirmed if Activision's event or the picture points to the development of "Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5" but the leaked detail coincides with the statement made by the legendary skater Tony Hawk in November of last year.
"I'm currently working with Activision on a console game for 2015 (along with a new mobile game)," he tweeted in 2014. "I think fans of ['Tony Hawk Pro Skater'] series will be hyped."
In addition, although the image has been taken down from Youkham's online social media accounts, Activision told Polygon that "Tony Hawk 5" is only a working title. This means the upcoming game's title will still be changed and finalized during the later stages of its development.
The first installment of the "Tony Hawk Pro Skater" series debuted in 1999 for the Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, PlayStation, Game Boy Color and N-Gage platforms. Since then, Activision annually released sequels for the game.
The last game, "Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4," came out in 2002. This was then followed by other spin-off games such as "Project 8," "Proving Ground," "American Wasteland" and the "Underground" series.
