Hollywood twins Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen won't be part of the Full House reboot in 2016, much to fans' disappointment. The two portrayed the role of Michelle Tanner, who is the youngest daughter in the family.
"Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of 'Fuller House,' I know how much 'Full House' has meant to them and they are still very much considered family," Robert L. Boyett, the executive producer of the show wrote.
The Olsen twins have sent their regards on the upcoming show and are currently busy with "various business endeavors" as well as their fashion brands, according to sources.
"It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their... I appreciate their support and good wishes towards 'Fuller House," Boyett added.
Almost all members of the cast have decided to return for the sitcom's 2016 reboot, but it won't be the same without Mary Kate and Ashley. John Stamos expressed his disappointment on the announcement over social media, and recently tweeted "#heartbroken."
Stamos also shared his thoughts on Facebook:
"Just so you reporters know, this is not a money gig for any of us - quite the opposite - we want to give the fans what they deserve for supporting us for so many years. We all just want to have fun, do it in a classy way on Netflix and have a good time. Sad that a few don't share the rest of the cast's opinion. I can only wish them the best -JS," he wrote.
Although 2016 is still quite a wait for many, fans have already listed what the show needs to bring back on the Full House sequel. This includes: favorite Tanner catchphrases (such as "have mercy" and "cut it out"), Uncle Jesse's (John Stamos') hair, Mr. Woodchuck, Wake up San Francisco, and D.J. and Steve. Michelle Tanner is definitely on the list, and we can't wait to see who gets the role since the Olsen twins turned it down.
Some of the original cast members who will be back for Fuller House 2016 are John Stamos, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber, and Candace Cameron Bure. Sources say that Lori Loughlin and Bob Saget might also join the team.
