Upcoming Android Phones 2015: Huawei P8 Captured in Live Images, Boasts Ultra-Slim Bezels, 5.2" Display, 13MP Shooter

In this time of the year when Xiaomi is turning heads and exceeding expectations, some of its local competitors also aim to perform better and become worldwide brands. This is exactly the case with Huawei.

For the last few years, the Chinese brand has been overshadowed by the increasing market share of the relatively newer Xiaomi startup thanks to the latter's affordable smartphones.

However, Huawei will not be denied this time in its own home country.  According to  Phone Arena, a prototype of the alleged Huawei P8 surfaced online. The device will reportedly be available this quarter, and it is expected to make an appearance at this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

In the report, the alleged leaked images show the Huawei P8 with a rectangular but super thin frame. Rumors also suggested that the upcoming Android flagship would boast a 5.2-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 3GB of RAM and the company's very own Kirin 930 chipset.

Other rumored specs include a 13MP primary camera at the back and a 2600mAh battery, finished off with a metallic or ceramic frame.

In previous reports, Huawei has decided to drop the Ascend branding and simply use the model number paired with another brand. The trend has reportedly began already in EU where the Chinese brand unveiled a phone simply called Honor P8.

Huawei is one of the major Chinese phone makers which have been making headlines not only in the Asian country, but overseas as well. For the past years, the manufacturer has stuck with the home market strategy, while slowly expanding to its neighboring Asian countries.

However, now that Xiaomi and Lenovo are both going at it in the Western markets as well, Huawei is certainly determined to catch up. Last year, Huawei did a good work keeping up with both local brands as well as its international competitors with a wide range of handsets aimed at entry level, mid-tier and high-end consumers.

Some of the company's top sellers in 2014 include the Ascend P7, Ascend Mate7, and the Honor 6.
