Xiaomi is undeniably one of the emerging powerhouses in the smartphone competition in China, the world's biggest phone market. Experts and reports give credit to the Chinese brand's very aggressive pricing strategy, and its dedication in providing quality handsets to its consumers.
As a result, Xiaomi has dethroned Samsung as the number one smartphone vendor in the Asian country during the latter part of 2014.
However, it looks like the manufacturer may be setting its eyes on something bigger.
According to a report by GSM Arena, Xiaomi will shortly launch a campaign that is aimed directly at iPhone users. In the report, the campaign would allow iPhone owners to swap their phones with the latest Xiaomi handsets announced earlier this month.
Reportedly, iPhone 5s owners will be allowed to swap their phones in order to get the Xiaomi Mi Note phablet which boasts a huge 5.7-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 3GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 801 chipset with four Krait 400 cores clocked at 2.5GHz each.
In addition, the new Xiaomi handset packs a 13MP primary camera at the back, a 4MP shooter in front, an option for either 16GB or 64GB of built in memory, and 3,000mAh battery.
On the other hand, owners of the latest iPhone 6 and 6 Plus smartphones will be given a much better treat once they have decided to swap their phones. In the report, Xiaomi will allegedly give them in return a brand new Mi Note Pro, which is the beefier and much powerful version of the Mi Notes.
In an event a couple of weeks ago, the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro was showcased bearing the same 5.7-inch display but with a whopping QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, 4GB of RAM and the latest octa-core Snapdragon 810 from Qualcomm.
In the report by GSM Arena, once the campaign has gone live, it appears that Xiaomi will accept any iPhone 5s, 6 and 6 Plus as long as they are working. Unfortunately, the said program may just be available in the brand's home market.
