One of the stars of AMC's "The Walking Dead' has recently welcomed a baby boy into the non-zombified world. Alanna Masterson, who takes on the role of Tara on the hit AMC series, gave birth to her first child and shared the big news to her fans.
During her pregnancy, the actress revealed her growing baby bump to the public by taking to social media and posting a picture of herself at the end of July, only a few months before the "The Walking Dead' season six was set to air.
Weeks before her big revelation, Masterson's Instagram feed showed a range of photos in which the 27-year-old star sneakily disguised her belly from her followers.
As reported by Entertainment Tonight, the 27-year-old actress is yet to reveal the baby's gender and name. She made her big-day news known in the same way she announced the pregnancy- with an appropriate Instagram photo.
Masterson posted an image of her and Brick Stowell- her boyfriend and father of her child- and captioned the photo with the statement: "We did it."
Stowell also took to Instagram for his followers to have a first glimpse of his child's feet, which he compared to his fully-grown hand.
With her newborn's arrival, it is uncertain whether such circumstances will affect Masterson's ability to continue on with her role in "The Walking Dead,' which was recently approved for a seventh season on AMC.
It was revealed as well that filming on the final episode for the current season is only starting, which means that Masterson's character may have had to miss out on a few episodes in time for her baby's arrival. Then again, given the nature of the hit zombie drama, the fate of the major players, including Tara's, could take an unfortunate turn eventually.
"That's the nature of the show," Masterson said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly when asked about the show's character deaths. "It's interesting because if you look at Emily (Beth) or Chad (Tyreese) or Tyler (Noah) and people that have gone this season -- it's done nothing but be great for them."
While the first-time previously admitted that she is worried as to how Tara might be the next character to be eliminated in the show, she has long accepted the manner by which the series works.
"People have become so attached and it's all they can think of and all they can remember so I eventually know I'm going to go on the show," she shared. "I think eventually everyone is going to go on the show. So I just try to enjoy every episode. But, yeah, it's kind of nerve-wracking."
"The Walking Dead' season six airs Sundays on AMC.
