While viewers are still questioning Glenn Rhee's (Steven Yeun) death, which is yet to be confirmed, in the 'Thank You' episode of 'The Walking Dead' season six, there has also been another issue that fans want to be addressed relating to a possible budding romance.
Had there been sparks between Eugene (Josh McDermitt) and Denise (Merritt Wever)? Viewers have been asking whether it is a possibility that the two characters will become a romantic couple in the future.
In an interview with TVLine after the third episode, titled "Thank You,' executive producer Scott M. Gimple explained that it is not in their plan to create a romantic bond for the two characters due to a reason that viewers will get to see in one of the next episodes.
"There were no sparks flying and people will see why," Gimple said, laughing. "But I dig that people thought that. Eugene is a dashing guy."
Looking into the comics, Denise should be in a relationship with Heath, who is being portrayed by Corey Hawkins on the hit zombie drama. While things are yet to unfold to see whether the two will also become a couple on the TV program, this can now be seen as the reason why a possible romance between Eugene and Denise is not being planned at the moment.
As for McDermitt, the actor recently opened up to Hollywood Life and shared his sentiments as to why some fans began to speculate that Eugene and Denise might start a romantic relationship.
"I think any time there's a girl around I think there's a good shot that Eugene is trying to ship himself in that direction," McDermitt said. "Eugene is a bit girl crazy, and I don't think it matters who it is. He likes girls. I don't want to spoil anything and say it's definitely going to happen or it's not going to happen, you're just going to have to tune in and find out!"
"The Walking Dead' season six, episode four, titled "Here's Not Here,' airs on Sunday, Nov. 1, at 9 p.m. on AMC. Its promo clip can be viewed below.
In this new episode, fans can look forward to flashback scenes that will explain Morgan's transition, from being a tough zombie slayer to a good-natured wanderer.
Actor Lennie James previously discussed his character's role in this new season and how he ended up following the path to peace.
"There's a big question to answer about Morgan, both about the show but also for me in the playing of him," James said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "There's a couple of dots to be joined that we haven't gotten to yet in the playing of him. So I'm kind of exploring that."
