The first official image of Psylocke, Magneto and the titular villain of "X-Men: Apocalypse' has been unveiled.
In the photo made available by Entertainment Weekly, Psylocke (Olivia Munn) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) appear to be one half of Apocalypse's (Oscar Isaac) Four Horseman in upcoming installment, together with Storm (Alexandra Shipp) and Archangel (Ben Hardy).
While Psylocke is decked out in a new version of the ninja costume designed by Jim Lee from the 1990s, Magneto is wearing an improved version of his own outfit from "X-Men: Days of Future Past.'
"It's a chaotic world of conflict and war and destruction," director Bryan Singer said of the new film. "It's one giant civilization that now requires one giant culling. That's why he needs ¬special assistants in this process."
Meanwhile, at the recently concluded San Diego Comic-Con, Hugh Jackman said his final goodbye to playing the fan-favorite clawed character before he goes on to play the titular character in the third "Wolverine' movie.
While the Australian actor reminisced about his special memories with the "X-Men' franchise over the past decade, co-star Jennifer Lawrence was dropping clues that made fans question whether she will still push through with her decision to say goodbye to playing the shape-changing character Mystique.
The multi-awarded actress previously announced that she would no longer be making movies with the Marvel franchise when "X-Men: Apocalypse' gets released.
In an interview with Yahoo Movies during Comic-Con along with "Apocalypse' co-stars, Lawrence issued the following statement about a possible return in any future "X-Men' films.
"I told Fox not to not ask me. "¦ I want them to ask me, and then I'm just going to see how I feel in the moment when they ask. It might not make a lot of sense to a lot of people, but I feel like I'll know when they ask. If I get a pit in my stomach and feel like I'm going to throw up, I'll say no. And if I don't, I'll ask how much they want to pay me."
Aside from Lawrence and Fassbender, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult are set to return and lead the cast of "X-Men: Apocalypse' as Professor X and Beast.
The upcoming installment will also see Rose Byrne's return as Moira MacTaggert along with Evan Peters as Quicksilver and Lucas Till as Havok.
Newcomers who have signed on to the movie include Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Ben Hardy as Angel, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Olivia Munn as Psylocke and Lana Condor as Jubilee.
Said to be the last installment of a trilogy that began with "X-Men: First Class' and continued with "X-Men: Days of Future Past,' "X-Men: Apocalypse' makes its way to cinemas on May 27, 2016.
