At the recently concluded San Diego Comic-Con, Hugh Jackman said his final goodbye to his clawed character before he goes on to take on the titular character in the third "Wolverine' movie.
However, it remains a big question whether Jennifer Lawrence will also bid farewell to her shape-changing character Mystique. The 24-year-old actress previously mentioned that she would no longer be making movies with the Marvel franchise after the release of "X-Men: Apocalypse.'
In an interview with Yahoo Movies during Comic-Con along with "Apocalypse' co-stars, Lawrence issued the following statement about a possible return in any future "X-Men' films.
"I told Fox not to not ask me. "¦ I want them to ask me, and then I'm just going to see how I feel in the moment when they ask. It might not make a lot of sense to a lot of people, but I feel like I'll know when they ask. If I get a pit in my stomach and feel like I'm going to throw up, I'll say no. And if I don't, I'll ask how much they want to pay me."
Several months ago, Lawrence told MTV that "Apocalypse' would be her final movie in the "X-Men' franchise. Although she did not reveal any more details, the multi-awarded actress was reportedly having difficulties in getting in and out of her Mystique costume.
After makeup artists painted Lawrence's entire body for "X-Men: First Class,' the actress suffered an allergic reaction. The crew tweaked things a bit for "Days of Future Past,' in which Lawrence's face was only painted while the rest of her costume was merely made up of a single zip-up jumpsuit.
The "American Hustle' actress is also recognized as one of the most hard-at-work actresses at present. The A-list celebrity has had leading roles in two highly popular franchises- "X-Men' and "The Hunger Games.'
With the latter coming to a conclusion with the release of "Mockingjay: Part 2' this November, Lawrence is expected to free up some of her time. She has also signed up for upcoming films, such as "Passengers' alongside Chris Pratt as well as the recently announced movie adaptation of "The Rosie Project.'
Aside from Lawrence playing Mystique, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult are set to return and lead the cast of "X-Men: Apocalypse' as Magneto, Professor X and Beast.
The forthcoming installment will also see Rose Byrne's return as Moira MacTaggert along with Evan Peters as Quicksilver and Lucas Till as Havok.
Newcomers who have signed on to the movie include Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Ben Hardy as Angel, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Olivia Munn as Psylocke and Lana Condor as Jubilee. Oscar Isaac is also set to play the film's title villain.
Said to be the last installment of a trilogy that began with "X-Men: First Class' and continued with "X-Men: Days of Future Past,' "X-Men: Apocalypse' makes its way to cinemas on May 27, 2016.
