In the report in WKBN, Conoboy's new position at the Vatican will involve working in a division of the dicastery that collaborates with bishops' conferences around the world, said Bishop David Bonnar. Conoboy will help, in particular, with identifying the church's requirements and creating strategies of action to deal with different issues.

Conoboy is currently the priest of three parishes: St. Joseph Parish in Mantua, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Aurora, and St. Ambrose Parish in Garrettsville. He's not only the Director of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs for the Youngstown Diocese, but he also takes on the role of Chair for their Presbyteral Council. On top of all that, he even teaches as an Adjunct Professor at Walsh University.

Father Frantisek Katrinak will lead Conoboy's three churches and St. Joan of Arc Parish in Streetsboro in his place. Conoboy received his priestly ordination in 2006 for the Diocese of Youngstown.

In the press release shared in the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown, Bishop Bonnar is thrilled and proud about Conoboy's appointment to the Vatican, calling it a huge honor for both him and the Youngstown Diocese. He'll be working alongside Cardinal Michael Czerny, Sister Alessandra Smerilli, and Father Fabio Baggio at the dicastery. The bishop has high praise for Conoboy's remarkable skills as a priest and theologian, and he's eager to see him collaborate with the team.

Conoboy, on the other hand, further expressed his joy at this new chance to serve Christ's church and the people of God differently. He worked in plenty of parishes in the Youngstown Diocese, including St. Charles Parish, Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, Holy Family Parish, and St. Mary and St. Joseph Parish, with a consistent concentration on pastoral ministry to the most vulnerable.

Additionally, he has taken part in other ecumenical initiatives, including the Lutheran-Catholic Covenant Commission in his community and the Youngstown-Warren Chapter of the Society of St. John Chrysostom.
