ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini, Nubia Z9 Max with Android 5.0 Lollipop Released

Chinese telecom firm ZTE has unveiled its latest smartphones, the Nubia Z9 Max and Nubia Z9 Mini, during a press conference in China.

The mobile devices are scheduled to be released in China on April but it is not yet confirmed if the smartphones will debut in other countries, NDTV reported.

According to the company, the two smartphones run on the Nubia U1 2.8 system which is based on the Android 5.0 Lillipop.

The Nubia Z9 Max, which is a phablet and the bigger of the two models, has a 5.5-inch full-HD display with 1080x1920p resolution. Its screen is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The mobile device also has an 8-megapixel front camera and 3GB of RAM.

The device is powered by the octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. It also sports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, USBOTG, MHL 3.0, GPS, A-GPS, 3G and 4G LTE connectivity options.

As for its smaller counterpart, the Nubia Z9 Mini has a 5-inch display with the same resolution specs as the Nubia Z9 Max. Being the smaller edition, the Nubia Z9 Mini has 2GB of RAM and does not have a front camera. It also utilizes the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor.

Both devices have a built-in storage of 16GB but can be expanded to 128GB through the microSD card slots. The two models also have a 16-megapixel rear camera. In addition, both the Nubia Z9 Max and Nubia Z9 Mini have dual Nano-SIM capabilities.

The batteries of the two devices have a capacity of 2900mAh.

The Nubia Z9 Mini will go on sale starting on April 2 of this year with a retail price of CNY1,499, which is around $240, according to Android Central. On the other hand, consumers can get their hands on the Nubia Z9 Max on April 16. The bigger model costs CNY2,499 or $400.
