The New Year symbolizes new beginnings and the same can be said of bookworms who are on the lookout for new books to read in 2015. Here is a list of much awaited books to be released this year.
Binary Star (January)
Sarah Gerard's novel talks about a young woman facing 20th century struggles. Gerard is well-known in the literary community and for good reason. Here is an excerpt from the book:
"I once thought you were a neutron star.
I thought I was a neutron star.
I could never be a neutron star.
There is not enough of me to be a neutron star.
A white dwarf is the final state of a star whose mass is too small to be a neutron star.
We're confusing terms."
If I Fall, If I Die (January)
Skateboarder turned author Michael Christie let us in on a story of a boy who gets "outside" for the very first time.
Christie has also authored "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time."
Funny Girl (February)
Written by Nick Hornby, the novel is about a young woman in the '60s who became a sitcom superstar at BBC. The Telegraph calls it a "heartfelt defence of popular entertainment," and gave it five stars. Here is a review.
Disgruntled (February)
"When you think you are only going to read a few pages and then lose track of time and realize you have read the entire book in one sitting," renowned book critic Sarah Weinnman tweeted.
Eight year old Kenya Curtis is the lead in Asali Solomon's latest novel. It is about family, love, and the struggles that a family in the 1980s-1990s had to face, including a child with a skillful pair of hands.
The Buried Giant
If there is one novel that consistently shows up on most list, this would be it. It took Kazuo Ishiguro ten years to write another novel, which is why many people are intrigued by this new release. The novel is about love, war, revenge, and lost memories.
